Bio | & this is About Me Age: 12 Gender: Male Position & Ship: Fiertia, Records Keeper. Appearance: Because he is 12 (and thus not done growing) Ciel is quite short. He keeps himself well groomed regardless. His hair is parted neatly and kept clean and silky. His skin is always scrubbed clean, and his attire reflects the highest fashion of the society he lives within. (i.e. He wears suits, top hats and always dons a cape when he is out of doors.) Additionally, he wears a black patch over one eye. The reason for this is because that eye in particular is graced with the symbol of the pentagram in its' center. This symbol connects him to his butler, Sebastian, whom is magically (and satanically) tied to him. Ciel keeps this symbol hidden because he does not want other people to know that he is, essentially, owned by Sebastian. Yet another symbol exists on his back, but that has very little to do with Sebastian. This mark was burned into his back when he was traded around as a slave. Sebastian saved him from the cruel punishments of his so called "masters" and that led to them forging their bond. Ciel prefers for the marks of his slavery (both past and present) to be hidden away. It is in the past, and his heart and mind are set on the future. Personality: Ciel is business savvy. He looks at life as if it were a gigantic chessboard. Each person is a pawn ready and waiting for him to move. Even the person closest to him (Sebastian) is a pawn. Ciel doesn't allow himself to get emotionally attached to anyone other than his cousin and fiancee, Elizabeth. She is the only one he feels remotely protective over. But even that relationship is colder and more detached than one might expect of two people who are destined to marry. Then again, it was a marriage arranged for them by his deceased parents. Thus, despite their warm feelings towards one another, it is not out of love that they will wed. Yet, despite his emotional detachment from those around him, there is one part of his personality that he often keeps hidden. After losing his parents and being enslaved, Ciel has come to value life and those around him. Even if he treats them as pawns, he would be upset if he lost them. In fact, he has vowed to himself that he will not allow that to happen. "Not again" he tells himself time and time again. As long as he has Sebastian and Elizabeth, he feels more at ease and less likely to emotionally break. | |||||
| & the Story is Formed History: Born in Belicus on a chilly night, Ciel was a rather small and weak child. He had numerous ailments in his early years, but he steadily outgrew them. Emotionally, however, Ciel was forced to mature quickly. At the age of 10, Ciel lost both of his parents. The mansion caught fire and both of his parents were caught inside. The tragedy could not have been avoided as the fire spread too quickly. Yet, overnight, a relatively innocent boy became Head of the Phantomhive estate. Unfortunately, Ciel fell prey to those attempting to use his age and vulnerability against him. This was the lowest point of his life. Parent-less and friend-less, Ciel became a slave to cruel masters who branded a mark into his back. His life seemed to be over before it started. Yet, unbeknownst to him, his life was just beginning. Sebastian arrived on the scene just in time. (It should be noted that Sebastian was not his name then. The name came later from Ciel himself.) Ciel didn't trust the man upon first sight, but he had little choice (especially after the man saved him from a beating). Ciel is certainly not one to let his debts go unpaid, and he was desperate for protection from someone, so it was with all of this in mind that he bound himself to Sebastian. Little did he know that he had landed himself in a deal with the metaphoric devil. Yet, it didn't matter. Sebastian, now christened with his temporary name, became Ciel's bodyguard and butler. He hasn't regretted his decision to bind himself to the man, but he knows that it can't last forever. One day, he will be strong enough to care for himself. Ciel looks forward to that day. From the day that he bound himself to Sebastian, life was never quiet. Despite being put into dangerous situations (i.e. the catastrophe involving Grell) by Sebastian, Ciel remained relatively safe. It seemed that his butler was testing Ciel's meddle, which the young lord chewed him out for when the violence had subsided. Sebastian met his irritation with veiled insults, and deep down, Ciel took his advice to heart. He didn't show this towards Sebastian, however; and most of their ordeals ended up with the butler making him a batch of sweets to tide over his anger. Outside of his relationship with Sebastian, Ciel kept up his correspondence with Elizabeth, and invited her for tea from time to time. He neither looks forward to their marriage nor dislikes it. They are close friends, and have always been such since Ciel can remember. However, he was not meant to spend much time with her. After receiving orders from a highly stationed political ally in Belicus, Sebastian and Ciel headed out and boarded the Fiertia. He sent his regrets to his cousin, but knew that he would not be able to see her for a very long time. Still, he had Sebastian at his side. That comforted Ciel somewhat, and he set his business centered mind on keeping up the records onboard the ship. This task was not just a job for him. Through the record keeping, he was able to keep an eye on what was happening onboard and who had boarded the ship. All of which are important facts for playing the game of life correctly. Ciel doesn't like sweeping anything under the rug (even if they seem like tiny, unimportant details). His fear of losing those he cares about keeps him alert and tense, and he is even more so now that he is so far from home. | ||||||
